This week I'm very honored to welcome Gracie Benedith-Cane to the podcast. Gracie is a married mother of 3 children. She is of Garifuna Hispanic descent from parents born in Honduras, C.A. She’s an Entrepreneur, Author and Inventor! Inspired by her eldest son who was born visually impaired, she wrote a children’s book called “What’s Cool About Braille Code School?” She also patented a footwear label that has braille, print letters and numbers on it to distinguish left, right and pairing of shoes, lessening the guesswork for sighted kids learning how to put their shoes on and most importantly the blind and visually impaired. Braille Code’s mission is to give pride and independence to the blind/VI as well as bringing awareness and inclusion to the sighted world through the book and the labels. Gracie currently resides in New York.
Join us as we discuss her journey, her fierce love for her children, and the source of her strength.
